Eurail Select Pass allows you to travel between any 3, 4 or 5 countries that are directly connected by rail or ship. You save money because you only pay for the countries you visit.

Europe offers the world traveler a host of attractions. Historic cities, scenic lakes, alpine meadows, markets, beaches, churches and museums bring together a wealth of experiences within a relatively small area. Travel by train with a Eurail Select Pass is an excellent way for overseas tourists to get around, designed specifically for those visiting 3 to 5 bordering countries for 5 to 15 days. In total there are 39 Eurail Select Pass options with prices increasing the more days and countries you require.


A Eurail Select Pass offers unlimited first class rail travel on national rail networks and should be bought before leaving your home country. They can be used on all normal scheduled trains but they do not cover the Underground or Metro, small private rail companies such as the Jungfraubahn, or the high-speed Eurostar.


Eurail Select Passes are only available to non-European residents and they are valid for a two-month period. On the day you want to travel, enter that date in one of the blank boxes and hop on your chosen train. You can make as many different journeys as you like on that day, which is where the savings really add up. It really is that flexible and easy!


All Eurail passes must be validated at a train ticket office before the first use. After that you can board any train and show it to the conductor when required. However, with the Eurail Select Pass the date must be filled in before boarding the train. Reservations are a good idea to guarantee a seat for a few euros. However some routes in the Netherlands and Belgium and most trains in France , Italy , Spain , Portugal and Sweden require compulsory seat reservations. Timetables will indicate where this is required with an “R”.


All Eurail Select Passes are Flexi-passes so that the holder can select the required number of days they wish to travel within a two-month window. Those days do not have to be stated in advance, such as with a normal train ticket. The Select Pass means that tourists can travel when they please, without notice. If their plans change, their Eurail Select Pass can accommodate their new schedule without a problem.


For travelers over the age of 12 and under 26, there are lower fees but the passenger must travel second class.
